“We Need A Little Christmas” originated from Jerry Herman’s Broadway musical, Mameand was first performed by Angela Lansbury in 1966.  After losing her fortune in the Wall Street crash of 1929, Auntie Mame sings this number in order to cheer up her family.  In this arrangement for Isthmus Brass (inspired by Johnny Mathis) the trombones carry the tune making it sound like what audiences call our “Christmas Polka.”
