Danny Boy or "Irish Tune from County Derry," is a welcomed arrangement on any program--provided that it works. The challenge with this tune is the lush harmonies and the large range of the melody. Usually arrangements of this work are bogged down in the low register where it's difficult to decipher the harmonies. This version gives each player a chance a that melody and is relatively clear and simple. The only real challenge is that, due to key, the work does stretch out the top euphoniumist a bit in the climax (high D). Hard copies available via email request.
