When the late Dr. Barry Ellis approached Mike Forbes to compose a work for the 50th anniversary of the University of Wisconsin – Platteville Pioneer Band Camp, he was both honored and overwhelmed with such a profound task. This camp meant the world to Barry as well as so many students and faculty (including Mike) who have participated in this extraordinary summer week of music in Southwestern Wisconsin.
